Waht about Ms. Holiday?

Yess, I'm new here. And yes, I said I don't like vocals. But what about Bille Holliday? Wasn't she fantasic? Listened to her when I was young.
Just took me away. Any body out there listen to her? Yes, I was brought up wwith country. But Billie Holiday, well she was always there.

Welcome, Harry.

Billie Holiday's music is an important part of my life too. In fact, I can't imagine life without it.

I never had a chance to see her live, however. Did you?

I do love her voice and some of the songs that she sang (Stange Fruit, God Bless the Child), she sang them beautifully.

When I came back on air at KSJS last year, after a 4 year absence, I used to follow a hip hop show. One morning, after the Hip Hop show, I started my show with "Strange Fruit." I received a phone call after I played that and the listener wanted to know who the artist was. That thrilled me since I don't get a lot of spill over from the previous show. At that time, the majority of the phone calls were for the DJ that had the time slot that I was in, mostly asking where he was.
