What do Wynton Marsalis' friends call him?

What do you call a guy named "Wynton" if you are a pal of his? Wyn? Wynnie? Wyn-man? The Wyn-meister? The Big W?

Maybe this info is known but I don't know it.

Skain. Not that I'm a friend, but I know one. When he is trying to be ultra cool he refers to Wynton as Skain.

hmmmmm and that rhymes with TAIN -- as in Watts. Wonder what that connection is? I know Tain used to play in Whynnie's group.

All those guys in Wynton's bands gave each other nicknames. Skain, Tain... Branford had one, too, but I can't recall what it was. Marcus Roberts was "J Master," Wessel Anderson was "Warmdaddy." They were mentioned frequently in Wynton's liner notes. It could all get very cloying.

He has an unpronounceable name that no one's allowed to speak in any case, nor can anyone look upon His face and live.
