The Twin Cities Hot Summer Jazz Festival returns from Sunday, June 11 through Sunday, June 25, 2006. This is the eighth year of the Twin Cities Jazz Festival, highlighted by outdoor concerts in Mears Park in Downtown St. Paul (June 16 & 17) and Peavey Plaza and three other nearby stages in Downtown Minneapolis (June 22 – 25). The Festival kicks off with a day of big bands at the Staring Lake Amphitheater in Eden Prairie on June 11 and hits the Wayzata Depot on June 14. All of the outdoor concerts are free of admission. The Artists' Quarter in St. Paul and the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis will also present special shows during the Festival's run. Visit hotsummerjazz.com for complete and updated information.

The Mears Park performances (June 16 & 17) include the blues-tinged jazz vocal and piano great Mose Allison, Latin jazz percussion master Bobby Sanabria, and Twin Cities-based standouts including George Avaloz, Nachito Herrera and Salsa del Soul.
