Note: (1) The titles heard here are alternate versions of those heard in the film (re-recorded at the film producers' insistence for a more "pop" oriented soundtrack). Source of musicians listed: David Meeker, "Jazz in the Movies" (Plas Johnson identified by Schifrin, Bill Plummer identified by himself). (2)
The jazz combo that performs Schifrin's "A Song For Kathy" in the film is said by singer Susanna Van Tassel to be her father's Bay area combo. The film's star, Steve McQueen, saw the group perform once and asked them to appear in the film. The group's music, however, is written by Lalo Schifrin and performed by the studio musicians listed above. (3) "A version of the "Bullitt" theme with lyrics titled "The Great Divide" was written by Schifrin with Norman Gimbel and performed by Joanie Sommers (Warner Bros. (Jap) BR-2185 [45]).
