The two images are of Porta farm, a settlement in Zimbabwe.
The left image was taken in June, 2002, when there were 6,000-10,000 people living there. The right image was taken in April of this year.
The American Association for the Advancement of Science is hoping to draw attention to human rights abuses around the world through use of satellite imagery.
