Vision Fest Bar Hang, Saturday afternoon 6/17 @ d.b.a.
So, how about an assembling of souls on Saturday the 17th, say starting at 2 or 3 @ d.b.a.?
I don't have the energy to try to arrange a Saturday brunch, but others are welcome to whip something up.

Yes. We could just pick a brunch place & get everyone to confirm here. I can make reservations the day before. Any suggestions, Pete?

I'll likely be in and out of Vision sets Saturday afternoon, but I'll pop in at some point. Sure to see many of you before that though.

Prune gets rave reviews. It's conveniently located to d.b.a., at E. 1st Street between 1st & 2nd Ave. If you're willing to arrange, I'm happy to attend.
It does, however, appear to be small & cramped, so it might not work.

Esperanto, at Ave. C & 9th does brunch, & it's much cheaper than Prune. The potato-shrimp pie is great. I've been there for dinner many times, but never for brunch. They take dinner reservations, so if they can accommodate a group for brunch, it would be great--and they always play great Latin music (sometimes live at night).
Brunch Prix Fixe $9.99Served with coffee and a choice of: Mimosa, Bloody Mary, Screw Driver or Juice Huevos Rancheros Served with homemade salsa, crispy tortilla, home potatoesEsperanto Eggs Eggs Benedict with spicy hollandaise sauce, home potatoesHuevos Loisaida Poached eggs with hollandaise sauce on a potato shrimp pieHuevos Colombianos Cooked in a casserole with butter and arepa, home potatoesSpanish Omelette Chorizo, roasted peppers, and manchego cheese, home potatoesOmelette del Jardin With goat cheese, roasted peppers, watercress, home potatoesFrench Toast With blueberry syrup and fruitsQuesadilla Poblanas Tomato and Monterrey quesadilla with beans and salsa roja.(with Chorizo, eggs, add $1 each)Esparanto's Cheeseburger With onions, salad, tomato and served with french fries

Esperanto sounds more appropriate (?), so I made an executive decision (whatever that means) & reserved for 15-20 for Saturday, June 17th at noon. Everyone, who wants in, please speak up. We'll take a count on Friday, June 16th & I'll call to confirm a final# that day at noon New York time. How am I doing, Pete?

I've only been to d.b.a's once, so this will be a good excuse to go again. I plan to be there, late afternoon-ish, early evening. I have Vision tix for the evening perf.
Should we all wear someting recognizable so we know other jazz-corner members?

You're doin' beauty-ful, as we say in these parts. But do you think there'll be more than 10-12 for brunch?

OR you could just stay up? If I go to the Jam Friday night, brunch is logistically unlikely... but it sure sounds like a GREAT place! DBA after the market, tho.... now, there's a plan...

Not sure. Few may come, but they may bring friends. Plus, I may bring 4 people myself. Afterwards, I wanna go to dba & to some festival matinée shows. This isn't going to be a very relaxing vacation from sounds of things.

I'm starting a thread for all food & drink related plans. I hope this doesn't get too confusing.
