Holly Anderson’s literary artist’s books Lily Lou & Sheherezade are in numerous collections, including MOMA, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Victoria & Albert Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Houghton Library at Harvard, and the Alexandria Library in Egypt. Her lyrics have been recorded by Mission of Burma, Consonant, Chris Brokaw, Rhys Chatham, & Lisa B. Burns. . . . Lisa B. Burns will sing some of the songs from an ongoing collaboration with Holly called New Randy. Lisa has recorded for MCA (Lisa Burns) and Atlantic Records (Velveteen). “Lisa sings with a touching resonance centered round her gritty Americana voice.” – Phil Manzanera (Roxy Music). Thanks for the heads-up on this. Can't make this reading, but hope to make another.

Good luck!

I have had dreams about being featured copiously. I think. At least it sounded and felt like it.

Must be nice to have "failed" in such a recognized, current way.

All the best to you and Holly, Pete.

I'll try to make it. I own and enjoyed Pete's "Condensed Book"

(Pete. You have my permission to read from any of the boner threads, if things aren't going well enough for the high brow folks at the reading.)

So it was well attended (I'd say) and marvelous super! I also thoroughly enjoyed Pete's billmate Holly Anderson--though Lisa Burns, the singer-songwriter who performed some songs based on Holly's poems, not so much.

(I just happened to be in New York at the right time. I expect to be "communicado" and back at JC again soon.)

Rita, wish I could've made it--the hell with Cherhces, it would've been nice to see you.

Who was the wordplayer?

Humph! Rita caught your reading in NYC. but she wouldn't even go down the street to have dinner with me (and Vince, and Monte, and Fred K., and Gordon). Double Humph.

Just a genre clarification...Because I write short prose that is often considered prose poetry, and have been in poetry anthologies & websites, some people call me a poet, but I never call myself one. My writing comes out of various prose traditions, and is little influenced by verse of any sort, and other than a few pantoums I've never published any verse.

How nice to see a bluenoter post after all this time! Communicado is a good thing.

I wouldn't take her appearance in NYC vs. her non-appearance in D.C. personally, Walto. Not that you are, of course.
