So! How Hot Is It?
The [alleged] Search this Thread [what a useless] function gave me everything but what I searched for....so I started a new same thread.
In The San Joaquin Valley, with it's legendary heat...the temperature was: 107. Tomorrow, 110.
How hot is it out your way?
And aren't you glad you don't live here?

Right now, it's 65º, sunny and very comfortable. Oh, and the sun won't set until sometime around 11:30 tonight.
Yes, I'm glad that we don't live there.

Was supposed to hit triple-digits this weekend here, but we had a nice little storm role in, so it's nice and cool.

It was damn hot here in LA as I drove around without AC in my car to 2 job interviews on 6 hours sleep, not enough food or liquids in me.
Supposed to be even hotter this weekend, so I hearby quit.

Temps ranging from 80 to 95 with high humidity and intermittent thunderstorms. I'm okay with that. Much better than winter. Haven't even been tempted to put the central a/c on yet................

It's hit 90 a couple of times and high 80s, both with high humidity, but it's not stopped raining long enough yet this spring or summer for much of any other kind of complaining to go on. There hasn't yet been enough time when I'm not doing horse or other stuff more important for the grass to dry between rains, so the lawn (so called) is past knee high. All of which of course has created a truly Hitchcockian mosquito season. And a nightmare for dairy farmers, many of whom will go under this year, as the rain and flooding has wiped out the first cut of hay and the year's corn crop, so, having to buy feed plus historically low prices for milk plus historically high fuel prices = dozens of farms going under this year, out of only a couple of hundred family-sized dairy farms left here. (There were thousands when I arrived in the 60s.)
We're going to have to import hay from Canada, ourselves, as there's none to buy here that will be safely cured, with all the rain. If it's not done properly, it can combust and burn your barn down at worst or just mold and be a useless waste of money at best.
Tired of rain, man. I haven't taken the dogs out in the woods, which I normally do at least once a day, for a couple of months. Not much for hiking around, sweating, in a mosquito mud bog.

It's supposed to get around 92° today, with accompanying high humidity, then cool off some with a rain, just like yestidi.

A cool 104° today. Kinda nice out with a few clouds in the sky. I think we might have an early monsoon season this year.

Man, it was a beautiful night here though. You could really smell everything, the dry trees, the ocean, the air. I was driving around tonight, listening to music and there was a ton of amazing heat lightening in the sky. So, much that I saw a lot of people standing outside watching it.

Beautiful day yesterday. The daytime temps were in the low 80s and it was sunny all day. Last night, we set up band practice outside in the backyard of our guitar player/singer's house. Nice breeze blowing in, temps in the 70s, just perfect.

It's been humid down here, too. I hate humidity, I don't know how the people back east and down south live with it. Blech.

Another day in hell.
I have a freind visiting from England with his wife. He grew up here, but has been in the UK for 20 years. This is his first time back in a while....and he gets a hot spell with 'gotta stab someone' humidity.

We're supposed to have another "monsoon" today, that'll keep the temp in the mid-80s. We don't have rain all year and all of a sudden it feels like I oughta start building a boat/ark. I hafta keep bringing my two little pot plants in to keep them from drowning.

A few days ago temps were approaching the 90's. Today we're dealing with almost three feet of snow here in Connecticut.
Just kidding, of course...............

So much rain here, the state's been declared a natural disaster area for farmers, almost all of whom have lost their feed crops. That coming on top of historically low milk prices (for farmers), plus historically high fuel prices, plus historically high taxes = many dead farms by the end of the year. No way around it.

i really feel for all of you who are experiencing the humidity, high temps, rain, etc. i just don't know how i would deal with it. i have respiratory problems and my own "personal summers" to begin with!! i cannot tell you how grateful i am to be living in santa monica. over last weekend, the high was about 78 - no kidding!! it has been glorious. in the evenings, i have to close most of my windows as it gets too cool. i do not own an air conditioner or fan! my friends in the valley and other parts of l.a. are suddenly all wanting to visit me! seriously, i am really and sincerely grateful. of course, we could sure use some serious rainfall in these parts.

I have central AC, but rarely use it, I use fans. AC cools better but feels unnatural; so I go for the breezes of fans. The only time I turn the AC on is when it gets 85°+ inside the house. The humidity is worse than the heat and there ain't much I can do about that.

Since leaving south Florida at the ripe old age of 12, I haven't looked back at blistering temperatures and high humidity. That's not to say that I didn't go from one extreme to the other. I did, but not by choice. I had one vote while my parents had two.
I have tremendous empathy for folks who live on the east coast during the summer months. It's often (read usually) brutal!
While it took me some time to adjust to my new environs, here are some of the benefits and remarkable facts regarding living in Anchorage:
• Low humidity, virtually year-round. Currently it's at 55%, a bit higher than usual.
• Moderate temps, even in winter, believe it or not. Currently it's 68º and sunny.
• Today was gloriously sunny and mild, and the sun won't set until 11:42PM.
• Sunrise tomorrow will occur at 4:26AM, so there's not much downtime during the summer months.
• Tomorrow, the high temp is expected to be in the mid-70's, which I assure you feels warmer here than where you live. I can't explain it. It's simply true, and the only way you can experience that phenomenon is to visit Alaska.
• Flowers and vegetables reach gigantic proportions in the Land of the Midnight Sun.
• The seafood ain't bad, either.

Ron -- Alaska's the only state I've not been to (yet). Once when the Sensitivos were in Port Townshend, Washington, we nearly talked a boat captain into hauling us up the inland waterway and back, to do a tour of the port taverns, as some pals in a different band at the time used to do each year, but in the end he wanted too much bread up front. We didn't have what he wanted up front but had some and had also agreed to give him a healthy percentage of the take on top but it didn't work out. Our friends in the allied band used to get dropped off in one place to play for a few days and then catch a boat to the next, and so forth, up and back again.
Well, one of these days. Can't have just one state left to hit forever.
