Laurie Gray - Pianist

Hello Im new today, so I hope this thread is in the right place

I recently heard an old tape recording of a painist called Laurie Gray, made in 1950s I think..he played the most wonderful Gershwin medley. I believe he had a trio and for a period they had a radio slot on the BBC in 1950s called "Gray Goes Gay"

Does anyone have any idea if he made any recordings??

Thank you

Debbie

Hi, Debbie. Yes, your thread is in the right place. I know nothing about him, but I tried to Google him, etc., and found nothing. Give people plenty of time to respond, and maybe someone will come up with something.

Thanks for those words of encouragement Rita..he is almost impossible to track down..I have googled myself but with no luck..I have even emailed the BBC but they havent replied

The one and only recording I have heard was exquisite..such a light touch,,without being flowery..

Heres hoping for good news

Debbie:

You might also try posing this question on the Robert Farnon Society website:

They are very good at covering a lot of musical activity ( especially of the European genre ) besides Bob Farnon's things ...

Sounds like he was never recognized at all to me.

I would be interested in hearing him if anyone comes up with something. :-)
