Schedule for 26th Cape May Jazz Festival announced

Although Cape May, N.J. and New Orleans are some 1300 miles apart, the two cities will come together for the 26th Cape May Jazz Festival. Featuring a variety of events such as a jazz dinner, special workshops and a memorial service for the late Brian Trainor, the festival will run from Nov. 10 to 12.
Nearly 30 artists will perform at the festival, beginning with the New Orleans All-Star Jazz Band featuring Dr. Michael White (pictured) on clarinet, Christian Scott on trumpet and Juanita Brooks on vocals. Other notable artists include Jeanie Bryon, daughter of Dizzy Gillespie; the Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble, Philadelphia’s Afro-original-beats band; the Louis Armstrong Summer Jazz Masters; and trumpeter Chuck Mangoine.

Besides just concerts, festival-goers can also attend a jazz dinner at Althea’s Restaurant-Inn of Cope May, complimentary workshops for guitar, saxophone and percussion players and a memorial service for Brian Trainor, where the Cape May All-Star Band will perform in tribute to the late pianist.

Tickets for the Cape May Jazz Festival go on sale Sept. 15, and can be purchased through capemayjazz.com or by calling 1-877-7CM-JAZZ. A 24-event Weekend Pass is $150, an 8-event Friday Night Pass or a 9-event Saturday Night Pass are available for $49 each, a 4-event Saturday Afternoon Pass is $35 and a 3-event Sunday Pass is $25. Reserved seating is also available at extra cost for some events.
