Please Vote For Jazz!

This came up a couple of years ago where I do my weekly radio program at KSJS 90.5 FM, San Jose at San Jose State University, and here it is again....

There's a poll currently at our website www.ksjs.org which asks on the home page, "What is your favorite music genre at KSJS?"

We are in the midst of getting back to webcasting again, please take a moment to turn this thing around!

Currently, Jazz is getting it's ass kicked, the standings showing:

-URBAN 20%
-ELECTRONIC 19%
-SUBVERSIVE ROCK[METAL] 23%
-ROCK EN ESPANOL 34%
-JAZZ 5%

The last time the jazz figures went through the roof [on the previous poll] everyone was shocked at the landslide vote, and nobody except the crowd at Jazzcorner knew where the heck all the responses came from;-))

Mike--I voted for jazz and added a comment. Can I really vote repeatedly, or will they look at the ISPs of the voters (for demographic purposes) and notice duplicates? I can vote from only one computer.

Edit: I got the damn initials wrong and can't remember the right ones.

Thanks you guys!

Hi Sis, how are you felling these days?
Will send you a private note....

I'm the wrong guy to ask, so far as anything having to do with, ISP, IBM, BMT, IRT, or even M_O_U_S_E;-)

Mike--I got the damn initials wrong anyway, which serves me right for trying to use them. Anyway, you seem sure that it's cool to vote often, so I will.

Well, if they're not tracking IPs, I can have Sub. Rock(?) and Urban blown away in a few minutes...

I just voted about six times, deleting the cookie after each vote.

Jazz is up to 10%.

I just voted many, many times, getting into a nice little rhythm of "vote, refresh cookies, delete cookie."

Note: If I failed to delete the cookie, the total number of votes didn't increase and I got the message "Sorry, you can't vote more than once."

Jazz is up to 30% and is leading the poll. I'll leave it to others to keep it in the lead.

Wow! I voted last night and was just going to vote for the second time, but these tech-savvy types appear to have it under control.

Cookies? WTF? I'm on a diet.

Subversive rock metal? Is this music that advocates the overthrow of Starbucks?

Mike--Yeah, you'd better wink! I voted like 12,000 times!

If everybody who views this thread would vote in the poll, jazz would be a shoo-in.

I would seriously consider deleting this thread before that station gets wise to it. They must be scratching their heads by now!

Where would Jazz have fallen without this thread? Sad to say it would barely register at 5%.

Not necessary stonemonkts...beginning tomorrow morning will ask my devoted listeners to chime in and do thier part too...and trust me the JC BLITZ will go completely undetected at KSJS!

They'll just say things like "Damn.....jazz came on like gang-busters!"

Truth be known, 'Rock en Espanol' is doing a department E-Blitz from the terrific bunch of young men & women that make up that segment, and the loyal listening base they have attracted.

Now if Dennis Gonzalez comes in for a vote, he'll probably vote for Subversive Rock AND Jazz, since 'Akolites' [sp?] and Yells At Eels have both gotten airplay at KSJS!

While you're clicking for jazz on KSJS could you also click on the bose ad on the home page of speakeasy or jazzcorner.com

They do track your ips, but even one click thru - really supports jazzcorner and this bbs.

Thanks
Lois
