Puerto Padre, Cuba, Aug 14 (Prensa Latina) Emiliano Salvador, the name of an extraordinary Latin jazz exponent of all times was given to a park located in the city of Puerto Padre, Las Tunas, in Cuba's eastern.
Angel Alberto Alvarez, main designer of the work, said it was conceived as a sort of piano and that it would have 41 marble banks to symbolize the age of the musician at the time of his death in October 1992.
The work includes 19 lights and the sowing of eight trees in representation of the day and month of his birthday in 1951.
The outstanding pianist stands as one of the founders of the ICAIC's Experimentation Group and gave his very first steps in the world of music at the age of nine years old in an orchestra directed by his father.
Emiliano Salvador graduated from the National School of Arts, became composer, musical arranger and the very first Latin American participating in the Ottawa's famous Jazz Festival.
