Yeah, King Bolden's has been doing some cool stuff. I heard Kidd with Alvin and William Parker there in April. They are doing improv/jazz stuff every Tuesday. It seems that The Dragon's Den is doing it on Sundays, so there are at least two nights in New Orleans that you can hear jazz that isn't dressed in suits or stripped vests.
I'll definitely be there one of the two nights. I have a money gig on Saturday and I am not sure what the times ar yet, so I might be a bit late. If all goes well I'll be there both nights.
Did it happen? I got off of my gig a little late and got to King Bolden's about midnight and there was no sign of any live music. The DJ table was up and I didn't recognize anyone.
