The unique sound of New York trumpeter Herb Robertson is not unknown in the Netherlands. In the eighties Robertson toured with Frans Vermeerssen's band All Ears and in the nineties he was a regular contributor to Guus Janssen's formations.
For his memorable CD 'Shades of Bud Powell' from the early years of the JMT label (now Winter & Winter) the trumpeter assembled a complete brass ensemble. Now Herb Robertson launches his Space Cadets for the first time in the Netherlands. With two seasoned German saxophonists Frank Gratkowski and Matthias Schubert by his side captain Herb boldly goes where no man has gone before. As Sun Ra said: `Next stop Jupiter'.
