Anonymous 4/ Darol Anger/ Mike Marshall -- Gloryland

I thought the Anonymous 4 had disbanded following their great album of shape-notes songs, "American Angels". Then I saw an ad promoting their appearance locally to promote their new album, another foray into traditional American music, this time with one of my favorite fiddlers. "... religious ballads, folk songs, folk hymns, and gospel songs," according to the A4's web site.

Due out next week!

1. I'm On My Journey Home
2. An Address for All (instrumental) / Like Noah's Weary Dove
3. Wayfaring Stranger
4. Wayfaring Stranger (instrumental)
5. Where We'll Never Grow Old
6. Ecstasy
7. The Wagoner's Lad
8. Mercy-Seat
9. Return Again
10. The Lost Girl
11. Palmetto
12. Pleading Saviour
13. Merrick
14. The Shining Shore
15. Saint's Delight
16. Just Over in the Gloryland
17. You Fair and Pretty Ladies
18. Parting Friends / Wayfaring Stranger (instrumental)
19. Green Pastures

Total playing time, 64:46

This has long been a favorite of mine of the "new acoustic" genre. I love how Mike Marshall, David Bromberg, and Mark O'Connor can play anything with strings so masterfully.
