My Anti-Life (Annals of Modern Medicine)
So this morning I woke up and I took:
antihistamine (allergy)
antidepressant (mental hygeine)
antibiotic (ear infection)
antiinflammatory (muscle ache)
If this is what I have to look forward to...I dunno.

I really fucking HATE it when (thelil) beats me to a punchline.
I woke up this morning and took:
1. Mr. Pootz to school.
2. Came home and washed the dishes in the sink.
3. Argued, once again, with some cat named "Paul" at the NYT about my paper not being delivered.
4. Worked out and foolishly ate sausage and biscuits for breakfast.
5. Washed it down with Ultra Mega Gold(GNC), and my other daily vitamins.
6. Ate a banana, apple, and yogurt for snack at work.
And I look foward to MANY more days just like these!
Maybe I'll hit Runge Nature Preserve for a walk in the cool Autmn air tomorrow............

A friend just sent this to me:
THIS SEEMS LIKE A GOOD CLAUSE TO ADD TO WILLS, ETC.:
I, ________________________,
Being of sound mind and body, do not wish to be kept alive indefinitely by artificial means. Under no circumstances should my fate be put in the hands of pinhead politicians who couldn't pass ninth-grade biology if their lives depended on it, or lawyers/doctors interested in simply running up the bills. If a reasonable amount of time passes and I fail to ask for at least one of the following:
Glass of wine ______ Margarita ______ Martini ______ Cold Beer ______ Scotch______
Chicken fried steak and cream gravy ______ Mexican food ______ French Fries ______
Pizza ______ Ice Cream ______ Coffee ______ Chocolate ______ Sex_______
It should be presumed that I won't ever get better. When such a determination is reached, I hereby instruct my appointed person and attending physicians to pull the plug, reel in the tubes and call it a day.
Signed,

At night:
Synthroid or a generic version (underactive thyroid)
Lexapro (depression, anxiety)
Atenolol (high blood pressure)
Drugstore-brand "naturalized" multivitamin/multimineral tablet
Drugstore-brand "natural" Calcium/Magnesium/Zinc tablet
Drugstore-brand "natural" Vitamin C tablet
This morning:
Supermarket-brand Loratadine (allergies)
That's nothing, and Dr Dave, your situation too could be a lot worse. Maybe the meds you're taking (including the antidepressant) aren't helping enough. I hope you feel better soon.

I take two different kinds of pain killers (an anti-inflammatory and a muscle relaxant) for the back problems I have. I try not to take them unless I think I'm going to need them (if I have to walk or stand for a relatively prolonged period of time), so even if I'm feeling some pain I just deal with it to avoid taking pills.
