Bose and Jazzcorner - Another Vote for Jazz

I know I put this up as an announcement, and I want to explain further. As of last Friday, Bose started advertising with these banners till July 23. When you click on it you'll find a really good opportunity for musicians. I ask all of you to please click on it whether you're a musicians or not. They are really showing us their support and it hopefully, will be the beginning of a long relationship with them which may also include giveaways and special promotions.

I need your support. The more views and click thru the banner gets - the more goes to jazzcorner. It helps me to support this board (and you only imagine how costly this is to not only run it, but the tranfer from the old board and the conversion of the archives. The advertising also affords me the ability to keep maintenance for the musicians at a relatively low cost. My philosophy has always been to keep the costs low for the musicians on JC and have sponsorship pay the rent.... with your support and participation that can happen. Please click thru, please pass on the word

Thank you so much
Lois

Filling out the entry form was really fast and simple. I posted the link to jazzcorner on my jazz guitar news group rec.music.makers.guitar.jazz and a few people there have apparently clicked through too.

Lois--You must mean August 3.

As I wrote elsewhere, I clicked on the Bose banner, but not being a musician, I didn't fill out an application or request more information.

Duh meant July 23.... it's a quick run...

It a great opportunity for musicians of all kinds. They wouldn't let me see the copy before I signed the agreement, so I was a little nervous that it might be schlocky...but this is a nice campaign...just want the jazz musicians could us - SPONSORSHIP!

PS Good luck jazzoo!

I filled out the form and although it wasn't very clear what they're looking for, it was an interesting questionnaire and the possibilities of sponsorship are really exciting. Thanks, Lois!

Jan

AS I said in my email to JC folks, it's a great thing for all musicians. I don't think (and it's just a guess) that they'll pick just from one genre and the fact that jazz is up there is fantastic with plenty of room for comments.

I had clicked on it too, but, like Bluenoter, didn't fill it out since I'm not a musician.

BTW, I didn't incur any unwanted consequences by going that far (just clicking on the banner). I didn't get any spam e-mails, and as I recall, I didn't even get a Bose cookie.

Unless I don't know Bose as well as I think I do, I'd bet that the sound system they've developed would be well-suited for an acoustic jazz band--probably better suited than for rock or country. It's just more alont the lines of their branding and attention to detail--rock PAs aren't really called on to be "accurate."

Count me among the applicants too, Lois. Good for you and good for Bose! Smart move on their part.

Thanks everyone for their support. The banner goes down on June 23, so if you could kindly click on it and fill out an application for someone you know - or just click on it, it is really appreciated. As you all know this is an expensive proposition to run this board, so the fees coming in from Bose really help tremendously.

Thanks again
