I saw a television ad for this piece of shit the other day. I can't even comprehend it. What the fuck did the human race do to deserve having this horseshit heaped on it? To add insult to injury, he's no longer even recording original material. He's become a pop cover whore. Someone bust a cap in this motherfucker before the next thing comes out.

I know. I shouldn't even post on these threads. It's like an addict seeing a fix, I just can't pass it up.

I think that was one of his male impersonators.

A brutal interpretation?

Mr. Nagel,
Downright excellent response. Perhaps Rod should be gang bitch-slapped by Kathi Lee Gifford, Florence Henderson, Rosie O'Donnell, and Kenny G. Then surgically attach the loin cloths of seven sumo wrestlers and the jockstrap of the late Andre the Giant to Rod's body. If that won't stop him from producing such musical duckshit, then maybe a meange a quint with Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Peewee Herman, and Ann Coulter. How's that for a Lenny D. Guitarist imitation?

I saw Rod the Clod in concert years ago and he actually brought the lyrics to "every picture tells a story" out on stage with him.

I welcome this change. I suspect there's less of a chance I'll be haunted at the supermarket by this crap than by his painful big band stuff.

Meats,
Keep your day job. A pale imitation of the master.

Rod Stewart's shamelessness knows no bounds. As forgettable as Kenny G's journeys into the land of Satchmo or as "Unforgettable" as Natalie Cole's necrophilia with Nat "King" Cole. Bitch slapping and loin cloths from sumo wrestlers are harsh enough penalties for the crimes committed by Rod?? The Ann Coulter allusion was okay. Maybe she deserves the group bitch-slappings and the loin cloths.

No, Bonnie Tyler. It's my record of choice for the Cowboy Cha-Cha, which is a bitchin' little line dance.

I know, Steve. That was tongue-in-cheek.

Did you guys know that Keith Richards wrote "Love Hurts" with Gram Parsons? That's a good fucking song.

It's a fucked up world when I rather listen to Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes than the guy who coined the style.....

I take the approach that he made 'The Rod Stewart Album', 'Gasoline Alley', 'Every Picture Takes a Story', and 'Never a Dull Moment', and then died sadly and unexpectedly in early 1973. Great artist, shame he died so young.

That can't really be true. The Everlys recorded it in 1960 when Gram was 13 or 14. Looks like Boudleaux Bryant wrote it.

Right, and a year later Roy Orbison cut his superb version of the song (as the B-Side of Running Scared).
