Why won't my avatar show????

I just posted something on another thread and my avatar is not showing. Could someone PLEASE fix that??
The picture has a lot of meaning to me and I want to share it with JC.
Is there a problem??
Thanks.

I'm seeing it fine, too.

There's quite an interesting story surrounding the photo you're using for your avatar, Lilsis. Care to share it with other JC posters?

Don't mind if I do...

Well Ron... without getting too-o-o-o-o personal, my avatar, although many may recognize it as John Hicks at the piano, there is a photo on the wall behind him of Hilton Ruiz looking over John's shoulder. Both people were very special to me and both passed away... one right after the other. Hence, John preceding Hilton in death and as in the picture... Hilton is right behind him looking over his shoulder. My sincerest thanks to James Hale of www.jazzhouse.org for sharing that picture with me.

I am just getting in from the Mulgrew Miller concert down here in the ATL and now I see my avatar. It was probably my AOL messing with stuff. Mulgrew is "Da Man". What a wonderful concert. And you know Atlantans are not privy to this kind of music on a regular basis like New York, so we were all just in AWE!!! Yes, the 'Bumpkins get to hear Music".

Now that you've told the story, Lilsis, I hope you don't mind if I share a larger version of this remarkable photo with our fellow JC posters.

I'm envious of your Mulgrew Miller concert experience. We Alaskan "bumpkins" aren't exactly the first stop or main destination for touring jazz groups, either.

Thanks Ron

Ron, Thank you. Now, the question is... How'd you do that??? When I got the picture, I tried to put it in a thread and it would not show because it said it was too many MBs or KBs... whatever. Well, I thought, and still think, that it is an awesome picture. And... BTW... where did you get your's??? I sent one to some of my friends in New York and they were completely blown away.

I shouldn't knock Atlanta too much.(I live here) They do, by the way, have a great jazz festival each year and it is FREE to the public. 2007 will be the thirtieth anniversary of Atlanta's Jazz Festival. It gives the locals a chance to mingle with the likes of McCoy Tyner, Barry Harris, Carmen Lundy, Randy Weston, Ahmad Jamal (one of my all-time favorites), Sonny Fortune, David 'Fathead' Newman, Roy Hargrove, Regina Carter, and a host of other jazz luminaries. As a matter of fact, Hilton Ruiz was here for "Latin Night" last year (2005) along with Nestor Torres and Tito Puente, Jr.

I agree that it's a wonderful photo, Lilsis.

I discovered the photo on the WGBH blog site, where it was posted by Steve Schwartz.

To post a photo or other image found on the internet, right click on the image and select Copy Image Location. Then, click on this icon on Jazz Corner when posting, and Paste (Ctrl + V) that image location (URL) in the little box when it pops up. Click OK. That's it.

Lilsis, were you not seeing your avatar on your home computer. Or on a computer at work?

My fascist IT department has all kind of garbage built into our system at work that often prevents me from seeing a lot of pics online. Including the odd avatar or two.

Unfortunately, it was on my home computer. However, I have AOL and sometimes it prevents certain pictures from coming through. While I am at work, I never have had any issues with the avatar displaying. Thanks, though.

Robin, here is the info on the picture. As I have previously stated... eerie or extraordinary??
Hi:
I'm a new member of JJA, and I'd like to share these two timely photos.
One, of Hilton Ruiz, was taken last July on the first night of the
first gig at the new jazz club, Estia Cantina, in Amagansett, NY. This
photo now hangs over the piano in the club. The second photo, oddly
prescient, is of John Hicks, playing last August (2005)at the same club, with Hilton looking over his shoulder.
