Dog likes to get high by licking toads.

Yet another reason to lick toads. Just don't get addicted, You don't want to go through what the toadsucking dog had to.

Considering the other things dogs like to lick and sniff, hallucinogenic amphibians don't seem so bad.

Always wondered why dogs do that. Their mouths foam up afterwards into a disgusting lather. Who knows. Maybe mine would, too.

I'm not averse to trying it. I just don't want to end up with a....er, um..... a toad on my back.

If this gets any more publicity, we'll soon see a conservative candidate espousing prohibition on this threat to society as part of their platform, while secretly licking toads in private.

It never occured to me to suck or lick a toad. But I've always had this instinctive urge to take a bite into an armadillo. I wonder if it's some evolutionary pre-wired knowledge of a way to get high.

"She seems to have outgrown the wild toad-obsessed years of her youth," Mirsch says, "and now only sucks on weekends."
So toadsucking is okay as long as it is confined to weekend binges? I think not.

So you're saying that there's no such thing as "social sucking"?

Any dog that has to get wasted on toads to be "social" is suspect in my book.

I don't know how the dog made use of it, but the Bufo Alvarius toad, which has the drug known as 5-MEO-DMT, should not licked or sucked - this will not do anything. It excretes the venom as protection against predators, but the substance can be collected, dried out, and smoked.
I've never done toad, but there are people that keep them and regularly harvest a supply of the creatures' hallucinogenic secretions.
"5-MEO-DMT has ten times the relative potency of dimethyl tryptamine (DMT), the popular synthetic psychedelic drug of the 1960'"s:
