REISSUE: CLASSIC RECORDINGS LIVE
Animation: Miles Davis's Bitches Brew
No other record in jazz history sparked more debate than Miles Davis's infamous Bitches Brew. Now almost four decades after its original release, musicians and critics cannot deny its far-reaching influence, especially for soprano saxophonist and Sunnyside recording artist Bob Belden who leads Animation, in a live rendering of the Miles Davis masterpiece from side A to side B. Animation features Tim Hagans (trumpet); Bob Belden (soprano sax); Scott Kinsey (keyboards); Matthew Garrison (bass); Zach Danziger (drums); DJ Logic and DJ Kingsize (turntables). Teo Macero, who produced the original Bitches Brew session, joins the proceedings.

NO MINIMUM: ONE ARTIST, MANY SIDES
Steve Nelson
In Duets: Mulgrew Miller / Dave Holland
The term "musicians' musician" could not be more apt than it is for Sunnyside recording artist Steve Nelson, a vibraphonist who steps out on the concert hall stage in New York for the first time. Nelson has toured with world-class musicians, most notably with bassist and composer Dave Holland, who will be joining him on stage. Nelson's other duet partner Mulgrew Miller is also revered by his peers and is "perhaps the leading pianist of his generation" (Boston Globe).
