Andrea Centazzo, Perry Robinson & Nobu Stowe – Renaissance
ICTUS RECORDS: THE RENAISSANCE
Labeled as "The Creative Label for Creative Music" ICTUS Records was one of the leading independent labels during the late 70's and early 80’s. Founded in 1976 the company focused mostly on improvised music, contemporary music and avant-garde jazz with much critical acclaim. The label documented seminal collaboration of the innovative composer-percussionist A.C. with the greatest improvisers of the day, including Steve Lacy, John Zorn, Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, Pierre Favre, Rova Saxophone Quartet etc. In 1984, Ictus regrettably ceased to exist. Now, exactly after 30 years of its birth, ICTUS is back with a special new edition 12 CD's Box Set including brand new as well old recordings and also a great new catalogue. To mark this renaissance of ICTUS, A.C. has formed this trio with the clarinet legend Perry Robinson and the up-and-coming pianist Nobu Stowe. The trio challenges the boundary between composition and improvisation, and proclaims a holistic path to jazz, classical music, rock, avant-garde, world-music, electronica etc. ICTUS Records’ 30s Anniversary “Renaissance” Tour is the one of firsts of the new ICTUS era and will be released as double CD in the beginning of 2007.
