1 Artist, 1 Album
Name 1 artist and, in your opinion, that artist's best album. No genre is out of bounds. Repeats OK. Disagreeing and posting a different album welcome.
Wayne Shorter - Night Dreamer
Charles Earland - Leaving This Planet
The J.B.'s - Pass The Peas
Funkadelic - Standing On The Verge Of Getting It On

I love them all, tough to choose one. "I'll Stay" from SOTVOGIO might be my favorite Funkadelic song. Cosmic Slop is a close second for me.

Walter, I'm adopting the rules as 'favorite' rather than 'best', and it remains my favorite for formative listening reasons. I'm glad to discuss its merits, but admit that I couldn't be very objective about it. That period remains my favorite, generally because it's more compositionally focussed. Took me a while, with that in mind, to get Bloodcount (though I eventually did).

Yeah, but c'mon, Vince. How many albums in any genre aren't a hodgepodge of sessions?
Besides, it IS a great album.
Would you say Coltranes Live At Birdland wouldn't qualify, for example?
Go back and read Noj's parameters.

A bit harsh, don't you think?

Not saying you can't elect the album. Just not much different than a choice of a hits collection, and I don't personally find such choices interesting. Fact is, most of Ornette's albums were the results of short recording periods (sessions over a few days). I doubt Ornette had much to do with the release of Twins. Plus, I'll note that two Twins tracks are from my choice of sessions.

Fair enough, Vince. We obviously agree for the most part.
I was just going with the criteria Noj had set. Artist, best album. And for me it's Twins.
So there!
