NEW YORK, NY, November 3, 2006 – Gary Bartz and Mulgrew Miller will always
be linked as two of jazz’s greatest sidemen, and over the years, both have
earned reputations as consummate bandleaders, composers, and educators.
Although they emerged on the jazz scene during different periods, both
played with the best jazz musicians of their day and learned immeasurable
amounts from jazz greats like Miles Davis, Art Blakey, and McCoy Tyner. As
time passes, Bartz and Miller are quickly becoming the jazz legends of the
21st century, and for one night only, the pair will perform as a duo at the
Blue Note, 131 West 3rd St. in Greenwich Village, $25 at a table, $15 at
the bar.
