takeover

I have been away. I just wanted to report that when I woke up and found out that the democrats took over the house and senate, I was happy. Not because I believe in the democrats, or that I think change is around the corner.

I just loved the thought of how upset Coda et al would be about it. Really, that was my only thought that morning. Missed this place, kind of.

Well it appears the House Democrats are trying to squander their newfound political clout by promoting members whose ethics rival those of the Republicans they campaigned against to leadership positions. Unbelievable.

What are you talking about? Murtha is last week's story. Anyway, the big news for me today was David Brooks on the Newshour saying Republicans want to get out of Iraq faster than Democrats do--they DO NOT want to go into '08 with Iraq hanging over their heads again.

The next president, of whichever party, will inherit the war. Like it or not, Iraq will still be an issue, likely the issue, in the '08 campaigns.

Well, I don't think the dems have an answer any more than the repubs. There is no answer to Iraq. Unless someone can invent a time machine, and redo a few things-or NOT do a few things, and do others that make more sense.

I was just glad to see those gloating republicans get their last few years parade majorly rained on!
