Long Beach, New York is a small city on a barrier island with a lovely white sand beach on the Atlantic Ocean. We're a 1 hour train ride from Penn Station in Manhattan, and located just to the east and south of Queens, a borough of New York.
Some enterprising jazz cats around here have arranged for a jazz festival this September.
The Festival will run from September 8th through September 14th, 2003.
Currently the schedule is as follows:
September 8th and 9th - Jazz theme movies at the Long Beach Library starting at 7:30PM
September 10th - Open jam session featuring the Al Cardillio Quartet, at the Long Beach Library, 7:30PM
September 11th - Concert at the Long Beach Library, 7:30PM; artist to be announced
September 12th - Program and venue to be announced
September 13th and 14th - Live concerts in Kennedy Plaza, in front of the Long Beach City Hall. The events will run from noon to 5:00 PM, and feature five to six different performers each day. Please see our (under construction) web site for details:
