The River Room of Harlem located at The Riverbank State Park/145th and Riverside Drive has been discovered by The New York Times who describe the River Room as "pure magic."
The View is magnificent, the food excellent and we present the very best Jazz every Friday and Saturday from 9pm through to 11.30pm. The music charge is a very reasonable $5 per head unless otherwise stated.

February 9 -- Jazz Mobile Event
February 10 -- Gregory Porter and the Brandon Sanders Trio
Gregory Porter calls himself “a young jazz singer.” Despite this, he has certainly had a measure of success in his career as a musician. His musical Nat King Cole and Me, in which he also plays the leading actor, had a successful run. The musical is a story about how the music of the world renowned musician was a substitution for a father he never had.
It Ain’t Nothin’ But the Blues, in which Porter was a performer, received four Tony Awards nominations in 1999 (the Oscar equivalent in theater), including for Best Musical.
February 16 & 17 -- Primodial
The Primordial Jazz Funktet brings a lot of the 21 st century into a (mostly) traditional jazz quintet. Furman started the group in Atlanta, GA, and moved it to New York in 2004. The Funktet plays Furman’s compositions, which are strongly influenced by funk and hiphop beats, as well as by world music sounds. “The music is intense, but it always grooves,” he says.
The intensity is in part due to the exceptional cast of musicians who have played with the Funktet, both in Atlanta and New York. These have included trumpeters Joe Gransden, Lee Hogans and James Cage, saxophonists Joel Frahm, Eric South, David Freeman and Tomas Ramirez, bassists Zack Pride, Alex Hernandez, Blake Gaines, George Grier and Paul Beaudry and drummers Corey Rawls, Che Marshall and Pete VanNostrand.
February 23 -- The Albert Rivera Quartet

The Albert Rivera Quartet has been 7 years in the making. Based in New York City, he is joined by the newest faces in jazz. He is committed in bringing new sounds to the public, keeping in mind where the music came from. Heavily based on John Coltranes modal aspect, Albert writes the entire Quartets music, using grooves and rhythm as his base. Albert attended New School University Jazz program, Adam graduated SUNY Purchase Music Program, Luques graduated from Berklee College of music, and Zaccai graduated from New England Conservatory.
