Attention Screen

Attention Screen is a quartet consisting of four composers/ instrumentalists who create unique spontaneous compositions that integrate jazz, classical, rock and world music vocabularies into flowing musical explorations. The band's compositions explore the blending of acoustic and electronic textures and it's not unusual to hear the influences of Marilyn Crispell, George Crumb, Bernard Hermann, Sonny Sharrock, Miles Davis, and Sonic Youth within a single performance.

Attention Screen is:

Don Fiorino (guitar, lotar, lap steel, and ukulele)-a multi-string instrumentalist whose phrasings range from rock and roll, acoustic bottleneck blues, electric slide, Middle Eastern and Indian fusions and jazz. He also currently plays with Andy Haas and Dee Pop in Radio I-Ching, who have just released a CD on the Resonantmusic label.

Bob Reina (piano)-a classically-trained new music composer whose genre-crossing compositions have been performed in diverse venues for over twenty years.

Chris Jones (bass)-a film scoring composer who is a Senior Producer/Composer at VideoHelper Production.

Mark Flynn (drums)-a faculty member at Drummers Collective in New York City and diversified New York session musician.

Attention Screen will be recording a CD for stereophile records, an audiophile label, during a performance at New York's Merkin Concert Hall on February 10, 2007 at 8PM. The concert is open to the public and tickets are now available by calling Merkin's box office at (212) 501-3330 or by visiting Merkin's website at
Tickets are $15 orchestra, $10 balcony.

Merkin Hall is located at 129 West 67th Street in Manhattan.

Concert attendees will receive a 1/3 discount on Attention Screen's CD when released and will also be treated to a question and answer session by stereophile records' John Atkinson during the concert intermission, wherein he will discuss his audiophile recording techniques.
