I think the title to this thread is a bit confusing. If I understand it correctly, it is meant to be top improv disks that are post free jazz AND euro improv. Is that correct?

Now we get into that fun and exciting task of defining lines. Is AMM "euro improv"... ?

Gotta be OR, right? Can't see several of the first list fitting AND. OR's my initial interpretation anyway, of the colloquial use of "A/B".

Along with (and possibly before) any number of AMMs and Ersts, "Duos for Doris" would be at the top of my list.

so this can be american or german or even mars right? but it should be primarily dominated by electric as in post cage/stockhausen. but from improvisers. in fact this is an eai list but we open it up to what else.

When 2 guys who neither capitalize nor punctuate properly don't understand each other, what hope is there for communication?

post as in things that come after the syles known as free jazz and its european version i.e. bailey brotzman and the like.... the important part not being the date things are made i.e. a david s ware album which comes after original free jazz but is an extension of the style, but rather things that are a style of improv which developed after those two inovations. really i just wanted to put a list of some favorite eai albums and its become the communicatiom nightmare. i didnt call it top eai albums cause there maybe other things people consider new styles which im not aware of. its also hilarious to me that people call eai the hipster music on this board.. well its good to be in the hip crowd somewhere.

the toughest ones for me to leave off that list were Schnee and do, actually, but 3 of those 4 musicians are represented by later releases, so I didn't feel too bad. it's just my personal favorite 10 out of the 30, it doesn't mean I don't think many of the others are great also.
