Favorite rolling papers

Would like to know people's (Gary, Shrugs, etc.) favorite rolling papers. Mine are the black (or Deluxe) Smoking, slow-burning rice paper made in Spain:

But the Rolls Deluxe type of the Smoking's are awesome, and those are pretty much all I've been buying for the last couple of years in that department:

Smoking is pretty much my brand. I also dig the yellow hemp ones, the Eco's, but I've noticed that hemp papers change the flavor of the smoke, so that's why I've been using the Smoking black ones. These are the hemp ones:

Anyway, what made me start this thread was to ask people if anyone's tried the clear (transparent) cellulose papers, the Brazilian brand Aleda. Some of my friends swear by them, but I don't really trust the condition of their taste buds so I really don't know. I'm basically worried if they change the taste of the smoke. Plus they're very expensive (a 40-papers pack costs around $10 dollars, while the 50-papers Smoking black cost around $3). Any comments on them (the cellulose Aleda papers) would be appreciated:

Don't smoke paper, it's not good for you. And it's wasteful.

They make Protopipes in Willits, 60 miles north of here in Mendocino County.

Go vaporizer, it's the best flavor possible and the cleanest hit. If not, glass bong with glass stem.

Haven't rolled one in several years, but when I did, I just went for basic EZ Wider, or Zig Zag, the thinner the paper, the better.

My choices now are:

or:

I don't have much use for rolling papers these days, as I prefer pipes, too.

Most of the connoisseurs I knew back in the day used glueless Abadie Club papers when they rolled.

Root's got the picture of the packaging above, which I can't link to directly from my office computer.

Of course, it also helps to start with the highest quality catnip you can afford.

I use them to keep my pads from sticking.

They look like plastic, burn like paper,,, very strange to look at, but smoke just fine!

Me too and I told this to the customs agent once coming home to the US from Canada. Since I had no other contraband, I was cool but the papers definitely cost me some time hung up in a search.

Hahaha thanks guys. Jazzgirl, does it taste the same as a rice paper? Groover, those Abadies are very nice. The Bambu slow burning ones are very good too.

I really prefer to roll way more than using pipes or bongs, maybe it's because of the bigger amount of herb we get in Mexico for the price. But mostly it's because of the flavor. Don't really like to smoke in metal pipes since for me it changes the flavor a lot (like the difference in flavor of drinking a coke in a can instead of a glass bottle), and glass is too harsh for my throat to tell you guys' the truth. Whenever I'm forced to use a pipe (for hash, for instance, since I really hate to mix it with tobacco), I stick to wooden ones, whose flavor I prefer.

Plus the act of rolling is very relaxing in itself.

Oh and I've only tried a vaporizer twice, when I studied one year of college in Iowa. I remember thinking it was kind of weird not to see or feel any smoke, but like my brother Noj said the taste is amazing, especially if it's hydro stuff.

Of course, after a few rounds of the vaporizer we just put the used herb as it was in a pipe and killed it. All the health benefits were lost, but you got the happiness twice.

I think it does,,,, it wasnt harsh at all,,,, it was weird to look at mostly, because it LOOKED like plastic, but if my eyes were closed, Id have to say I probably wouldnt notice any flavor difference!

I've used a pipe, always, for years, Gerardo. But when I did use papers, I used Lion Of Judah.

I haven't rolled anything in many years, but I've seen some of my favorite papers represented here.

I also remember when certain pipes were called "carburetors".

Blue Zig-Zags, because I roll my Drum tobacco with it anyway, on the odd occasion I smoke green. Hash or hash oil on white Zig-Zags. I've tried others, I just like the dependable Zigs. I prefer pipes or one-hitters for no waste & clean smoke. If I could afford a vaporizer, I LOVE them! Clean & smooth, better for the lack of harsh throat action. Also, sometimes I'll use a nargile, which serves pretty much the same purpose of the bong, just a bit more elegant .... & may be conducive to drawing a more elegant smoking companion...
