Have you provided your cat with access to an adequate instrument on which to develop it's talent? If not, who's to blame?
I haven't either, actually.

Cat can walk on the piano and knock the music holder thing over in transit on and off piano but doesn't play a tune like the cat in the video who is also cuter than my cat.

I see, then I guess your cat just isn't motivated to practice. I don't think you can force a cat to do much of anything it doesn't really want to.
The only working keyboards I have are portables, which I don't think are sturdy enough to attract the cat. My piano needs tuning and has too many dead keys for the cat to take it seriously.

OK.
In video #1 we see a cat "playing" a piano and I have to wonder [given are the rubbing and attentiveness to one key] how much catnip was placed on the keyboard to cause the cat to do this. Secondly, would this be the very first time or was this a planned event?
And does anyone besides me notice the cuts and fade in/fade out on this video? This is a total set-up, people.
In video #2 we see a cat on a friggin' leash who goes sideways.
Um...leashes are for dogs not cats....and we wonder why the cat doesn't like it?
Duh.

Don't be so hard on your cat, Tippy.
That show-off cat in the video is not such a much.
He/she is merely searching for Middle C.
The free-style noodling is just that.
No discernable pattern or apparent inspiration.
I'll bet that cat couldn't knock over the music-holder thingie like your cat can.
Also, the cat in the video's choice of fur makes his/her buttocks look really big.

Ummmm, Goody, I don't know how many cats you've had in your life, but I can assure you that this was not about catnip. I've enjoyed at least 50 cats in my home(s) over my lifetime, and cats don't use their paws on piano keys when they're excited about catnip.
This cat was clearly digging hearing the sounds of at least 7-8 different keys/notes.
End of story.

I agree with Ron and in reality I think this video is so darn cute because of his apparent enjoyment of the sound that I wouldn't care if it was trickery or not.

I liked the music.
But wait until I film one of the home feline gang playing the cello...

I noted strong similarities between this and the Terry Schiavo tape. Something is afoot.

My cat died a couple of years ago. My wife refuses to have another cat in the house because of the shedding. Be glad you have cats that suck!

My old cat was awesome... liked Joseph Jarman. He used to sit right between the Allison Threes and just dig.

My tabby, Jazz, will be 15 come May, and when she is, she'll officially be the sentient being I've lived with longer than any other, my folks included.
