Anyone who knows cats knows that cats can all dance, and dance well.
The reason they don't let their humans know they can outdance any bear, is that they are concerned that they would be called upon to do so for the entertainment of the masses.
Cats are by nature a dignified and solitary species.
Above all, they avoid exploitation of their inborn talents by humans, who would only seek to rake in millions of dollars at the expense of their pet's autonomy.
However, if you want to catch a glimpse of your cat's ability to groove to the music, you have to be crafty.
Sneak up on them at night, when the stars are out, in any nearby wooded area.
There you will find them.
Any small noise will startle them, so approach cautiously.
You will see a display of dancing the likes of which will amaze you.
The Latin dances seems to be favourites.
Hip Hop influenced dancing is forbidden, I understand.
You too will then possess the secret I have kept close to my bosom, lo these many years.

Shhh. Not many know that. Cats know that humans, though pleasant enough, could contribute nothing to their conversations.

My old cat Rocky was an incredible hunter and killed something just about every day.
One sunny day, I watched out my bedroom window as he stalked a bird on my front lawn. He was silently creeping, crouched low to the ground behind the bird. At the last moment the bird noticed and took to the air. Rocky, lightning quick, burst to a run and leaped, catching the bird with his front paws in midair and pinning it to the grass in a puff of feathers. He must have jumped 4-5 feet into the air with deadly accuracy.
Rocky would always leave us a share of his kills on the porch, usually a pile of entrails or assorted parts. Once, he severed the head from a full-sized rabbit and left it there next to the corpse. He only ate the ears. That was a fun one to get with the shovel.
Another time, I heard him merrily crunching his way through something out the screen door. I took a look and there were tarantula legs scattered all over the porch. Rocky was very much enjoying the body, must be a feline delicacy.
Not sure if they dance, but the little fleabags can hunt!

Shhh.....don't say "fleabag."
The folks on that other cat thread are very touchy about such things.
Of course, there's always a piano playing fleabag, I suppose.

Cats can be taught to do many things. I've witnessed this with professionals as well as family members. Hell, my father taught several cats of ours to "fetch", which many non-believers said was a thing that only dogs could/would do. Nonsense.
How do you explain the following video if you want to dismiss the intelligence, teachability and curiosity of cats?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Dna0oWu_EU
ps: There doesn't appear to be any catnip in the fish bowl.

I've trained my cats to sing show tunes.
No....I'm kidding.
But they have mastered "don't come" [Good kitty].

My grand-mother-in-law has a non-castrated male cat.
This cat can:
- eat
- hear
- go to the bathroom
- see
- watch
- speak (in englishy cat-ish only)
- danse
- play the guitar
- write a letter
and many other things.
I'll find a video in youtube - it's just a question of time.

Before Marina del Rey was built, my friend Laurie Johnston, lived near the wetlands there, as her grandmother owned some old motor courts right up next to them, so she was living in one of them. It was a small undeveloped patch of land between El Segundo, the Playa del Rey area, LA International Airport, and Ocean Park.
Laurie would leave her bathroom window open for fresh air and to let her cat come and go. It seemed as though every morning she would wake up to all sorts of little gifts on her pillow right up next to her face, half alive mice, lizards and anything else she could catch, always bringing them as offerings to Laurie. She would wake up to some gruesome and frightening things. It was too funny at times, and a mess.

It's what cats do....it's their job.
Our cats are indoor cats...they leave "gifts" of Beanie Babies at the doorway of our bedroom.
No Kidding.

My gentleman cat, Morris, regularly left me birds and mice, meticulously laid out on the mat in front of my sink in the kitchen. They were in such perfect condition [except for being dead] that it was obvious that they were offerings. I had to dispose of them out of Morris' sight, or I would have hurt his feelings.
Most of the time he just kept the mice down in the house, eating them when he caught them, neatly, cleaning up everything about them, disappearing them.
Fluffy, my other cat was just the cutest little girl cat. She idolized Morris. Morris was dignified and glided around the house, clearly in charge and comfortable with that. Morris didn't like to be held, or petted, except at his pleasure.
Fluffy was an airhead, kind of a carefree spirit, chasing butterflies, but not catching them, chasing mice, but never catching them, just being a little kid, if cats can be little kids. She insisted on being petted and cuddled. So it was a nice combination.
I'm sure that both could dance beautifully, and play music, perhaps kazoos, or jew's harps.
Both were rescued strays and couldn't have been more family.

My cats do the lay-around-and-be-lazy exquisitly well, thank you.
But they do meow a lot.
Both are strays....sisters, in fact.
