yo, and real film
Hi peeps. I have been on here very little in the last year. Divorce, health problems, too much work, and lots of other reasons. But I just got a new Mac laptop. That means I can start wasting more time with yal' again, though not as much as I was before.
BTW anybody out there still use real film? I have been playing with these two toys:

I got my MacBook when I was getting divorced last year, too--must be a trend.

I bought a Polaroid Sun 600 last year at my neighbor's garage sale for $.25. I know that doesn't strictly meet the criterion "real film." But it does make a physical picture and it is fun to use with two young kids. $1 a photo cost average.
Welcome back, sonic. Sorry to hear about the troubs. You have friends here, be they ever so lame.

No man, i love polaroids. I want to get a polaroid back for my Holga. Doing polaroid tranfers is always a cheap thrill too.

Funny you should mention them-- Michael Davis used to live here in town, I met him randomly, he was driving me around in a golf cart and when I asked him what he did he nonchalantly said, "uh I play music. I used to be in this band called the MC5". I of course about shit my pants, and he was stunned I knew who the MC5 were. Now, of course he realizes his music has had somewhat of a revival. But it was precious to see him so unaware. He just moved to New Mexico. Really nice guy.

Welcome back, sonic.
Yeah, I still have and occasionally use cameras which require film. I have two wonderful German 35mm SLRs, an Exa and an Exacta with many lenses, and a Gossen Luna Pro light meter.
I have a YashicaMat 2¼" twin lens reflex which makes wonderful images.
I also have a pretty rare Polaroid SLR, but it requires some work.

This is cool. I had to go check out my first really good camera which I have taken some really fabulous pictures with.
I have a newer Minolta but I love this camera.
