Warning : racist rant about white people and squid
We're all by now very used to hearing old and tired racist stereotypes about black people liking chicken and watermelon. I don't know and don't care whether black people tend to eat chicken and watermelon more than non-black people.
My issue is how white people get off scott-free when it comes to avoiding a deserved stereotype as disgusting dirty squid lovers. I mean both my parents are white and everything, and I eat squid and calamari just like the next ofay, but I just don't know why they (white people) aren't saddled with the burden of being thought of as dirty squid lovers.
Think about it. Every fucking basically-white-yet-ethnic group features some squid dish in their restaurants (see Greeks, Italians, Portugese, New Englanders, Bay Area whites, etc). And even totally non-ethnic white places like Friday's and Applebee's can't sell you enough "calamari" with their fucking peckerwood "aolis" and "dipping sauces" . DIP THIS!!!!
And get this, many white restaurants squeeze out some kind of black squid piss and put it on pasta (macaroni). And guess what: white people pay big bucks for this crap.
Face it. God created chickens and watermelon and they taste great and were obviously made for eating and there's nothing wrong with loving them. By contrast, squids are fucking slimy and disgusting, but it's like honkies are all Teflon when it comes to having reputations untarnished by constantly eating the slimy tentacled beasts. (And calling them "calamari" and calling their black piss "ink" hardly explains this all too common savage Caucasian behavior.)
I thought this would make me feel better, but now I feel guilty.

Actually had calamari at a Japanese restaurant last night. Yummy.
But just as not every squid-eater is white, not every white person is a squid-eater.

And you're actually suggesting that black people who eat squid aren't merely trying to "pass?"

They're like squid marinating in their own ink: black on the outside, white and chewy on the inside.

I can take squid or leave it, but give some octopus and I'm one happy honky.

OK.
I'm sorry if I was stereotyping. (I'm even sorrier if it turns out that you were taking me seriously)
Say it loud - I'm a black calamari lover and I'm proud!!!

Don't worry. I did not think you were serious. My post was intended to be in the spirit of the thread.

Filipinos are big on Spam too. They get these cute looks of incomprehension on their faces when Americans ask, "Are you serious? You like that stuff?"
I assume it has something to do with having been overrun by Spam-bearing US troops in the recent past, there and in Korea.

real white people do not eat squid - only those corrupt whites from the city
What white people eat that is disturbing to some is mayonnaise. Me, I LOVE the stuff.

I don't strictly follow Jewish dietary law, but eating squid and octopus are an experience I plan to forego in this lifetime. Not that there's anything wrong with squid-eatin'...

We all like Spam omelets when they camp it up.
Just the other night, my Spam omelet put on a French maid outfit and her Marv Albert makeup and toupe and did an Annie Get Your Gun that made Merman look like Marvin* I loved it.

and dip it all in garlic mayonnaise - yes
how about the dessert that celebrates graham crackers, hershey's chocolate bars, marshmallows and camping "aptly" named, in tribute to our public education system "s'more" (= some more).

Do you remember those weird tall creatures with the longish protruding noses from some of the popeye episodes (I think where he was on a special island) - that looks like a naked one of those.
