Beer-drinking duck understands Chinese
A Chinese man says his beer-drinking pet duck can understand him.
Grandpa Cao takes six-year-old Yaya for a walk through Dalian city every day, reports Northeast News Network.
"He understands every instruction I give him, such as to tumble or to fly. But when he's tired he turns his back on me," says Cao.
He feeds Yaya on peanuts mainly, but says he also enjoys shrimp and other sea food as snacks - with a beer.
"When he eats, he needs a bowl of beer, otherwise he won't be happy," added Cao.

Just for clarification, how much suds has Grandpa Cao consumed at the time the duck appears to "....understands every instruction I give him"?

If they brought me TsingTao in a bowl every day, I would be one happy duck.

"Not only turns his back, but stabs me in my back," continues Cao with bitterness. "Like that time I went out for some smokes and another couple of bumpers of Tsing Tao and I come back and that drake is fucking my wife."

You know, back in my wilding daze, I once drank enough beer to tune in Tokyo on my girlfriend's, uh.... navel.
I was either a genius or a duck.

Don't all beer drinking ducks understand Chinese?
I knew a sake drinking duck that spoke Japanese, but only phonetically! He didn't understand a single word!
Dumbass duck.

No. All Chinese speaking ducks drink beer. There is a big difference.

It's no stereotype. It applies to Chinese speaking ducks of ANY ethnicity. And, interestingly, most Chinese speaking ducks are NOT ethnically Chinese! Similarly, the ducks used in Peking Duck are Chinese, but have not learned to say "DON'T SLIT MY THROAT, FUCKWAD" in any language.

You know, that's a very good point. I'm ashamed of assuming what I did. Sorry, John L. You are not the poultry racist I thought you were.

OK, this is getting weird. Maybe these things come in threes. Maybe next week it'll be Peking duck aware of bleak future.
Pet fish knows his name
Ananova.com
A Chinese man is looking for a good home for his pet carp which he says is fully trained.
Fang Peng, from Pingsai town, Guizhou Province, claims 'Submarine' responds to his name being called out.
Fang runs a fishing pond and his family have been training the carp for six years, reports the Guizhou City Papers.
He said: "He is very smart, and never takes the bait of anglers."
Fang says the fish developed his ability to understand human speech from his father who used to spend four hours a day with him.
Fang added: "He would tie a piece of cake or bread on the top of the fishing pole and call 'Submarine'.
"On hearing his name, Submarine would emerge from the water and take the food. Or I would feed him by hand."
Fang needs to find a new home for Submarine as the river which runs into his fishing pond has been diverted for irrigation.
