Indians don't show kissing in their movies, and obviously they don't like to see movie stars kissing in public. Richard Gere better not try to hug and kiss me! I'm a macho man! I'll break his nose!

There's a way in which Gere is lucky, actually. I was in the service with a guy who got a knife between the ribs in Thailand for a (by American standards but hey, he wasn't *in* America so irrelevant) less offensive offense. Sometimes it pays to pay attention to the runnings wherever you are. There are a whole lot of people in the world, including some Americans, who find this hugging and kissing thing Americans have shallow and unacceptable. I don't care one way or another, but it does make me wonder how I'm supposed to react to a big hug from someone I haven't known for ten minutes.

Gary, my default response in that situation, especially if she's pretty, is to grab her ass. Your mileage may vary.

See, Nagle is suave. He can make those kinda moves. I try to stick with verbal rather than physical cues, e.g.:
Me: "Are you married?"
She: "No."
Me: "Do you fool around?"
or, conversely:
Me: "Are you married?"
She: "Yes."
Me: "Me, too! Do you fool around?"
Message gets across, no untoward physical moves to upset anyone.

Lot of people for a country where sex is largely taboo.

Shilpa Shetty might be the most shagadelic name not to appear in an Austin Powers movie.

No, I wouldn't. Known prettier, and with less makeup, if any was used at all.
Talking about customs and what can get you in trouble, it was funny, but, we had a friend growing up in Hermosa who had a mole on his stomach the size, the shape and the color of a raisin. That became his nickname, 'Raisin'. Everyone called him that, and if he walked up to any of us, we would always lightly pinch him on his stomach. Guys and girls both would do this. Sometimes he would take off running yelling "No" you can't have it, laughing like crazy with Jim King or one of his best friends chasing him. It was some sort of good luck superstition as crazy as it sounds. A Bad Habit to get into, as we were always doing that, without even thinking, it was an almost automatic response. Then when laughter or other triggers would set us off, we caught ourselves doing this to people we barely knew. I've embarassed myself more than once doing this, as their girlfriends or wives would be about to lose it over that one little action; not believing how tacky we were being. The fellows would be all smiles, thinking it was a come-on. No, it wasn't that, just a silly habit.

Weaering makeup at all just adds to the loss of the skins natural elasticity. Then when you get older, you'll end up looking much worse than you would have naturally.

I always sort of thought of it that way too - keep the surface/pores clean, my philosophy for a long time. But I also think it depends because makeup can also protect the skin and serve as a moisturizer so I'm not totally sold on pure naked - you should at least wear SPF these days to protect against sun damage which can reflect up against the ground even if you were to wear a hat so no matter what something is going over the skin - but yes adding pigment is different.

I've only said I've known prettier and her's isn't a look which I think is the best. She's pretty enough but she isn't what I'd aspire to look like.
I've had a few friends who were knock down gorgeous, and two, who, if they wore any makeup at all, looked over the top like this girl does. They looked their best with out any make up at all. Even just a little didn't suit them. Total natural beauties. They're the only two girls I've even seen look like this. I'd bet if the Indian girls were to use a little less they would look better themselves.

Okay, Sandi, I think this woman's face is versatile because she can look both cute and beautiful due to the wide set of her eyes plus I always wanted to be a brunette because imo they are more striking and can carry more color. I didn't mean literally that we should all look exactly like her just acknowledging that she is a very beautiful woman. I don't see what is threatening about that except for my literal statement must have sounded like oh, that's it. There is no most beautiful woman in the world of course, it has just been said about the woman pictured above.

Nothing threatening. I didn't think that at all.
She's just not the type of look I would aspire to. I like her chin, and I don't have narrow close together eyes, I have high cheekbones, and light auburn hair. Growing up it was well past my waist. My nose I would have changed in a heart beat, but was afraid if I were to do that, my whole look would be lost and I was happy with it.
I was happy enough with my looks, they're not perfect, but ok. I've just never been the envious type for the most part.

They burned an effigy of Richard Gere. Nice. Wonder what about the effigy made it look Gerelike. There was a fun article in the UK Spectator about effigy burning and where do they get these effigies and what good it must do to the soul of a nation (or crowd) to have on hand a closet of effigies to whip out at any provocation for an unrestrained burning. We don't do that here, although I did see pics of a US soldier burned in effigy recently in Portland, thoughtful.
