Thing is, these guys get to keep their jobs and keep being taken seriously (at least by those who agree with them) though they have no more accuracy in their pronouncements than the annual psychics have in the tabloid prophecies. And they can change their lines overnight with the ease of a Stalinist. Doesn't matter. There's no past or future in American politics. There's only the present. New Agers rejoice, the Now is here.

Tristy, others, I mentioned this show -- "Buying the War" -- on another thread, but I would highly recommend you watch it. You can view it online. Moyers destroys The New York Times, and other major newspapers/media outlets, on coverage of the war.

It is interesting that when it aired Wednesday night on PBS, The New York Times had exactly two sentences of coverage, when normally an significant piece like this would have 18 inches of copy or so.
