Exactly what I was thinking, Claude.
I guess we seem like nit-pickers, but if Americans are involved in any way at all, they almost never mention anyone else who was there as well, doing stuff to make the heroism happen and the results be achieved.
For example, if you watch American-made war movies, apparently the U.S. fought alone, bringing peace and freedom to Europe and the world in WWII.
My dad and his seven brothers in the army overseas were just bystanders, if that.
