Al-Qaeda threatens war against Iran

The leader of an al-Qaeda umbrella group in Iraq, who was thought to have beeen killed by US forces, has threatened to wage war against Iran unless it stops supporting Shias in Iraq within two months.

Cool. Maybe if Al-Q starts fighting Iran, we can pull our troops out and just supply one side with weapons and fight a proxy war.

What's to prevent the warmongers from supporting both sides, hedging their bets so that they will be on the side which prevails, whichever one that is?

After all, it's certainly not unheard of that huge campaign supporters pour funds into both major candidate's coffers and even into spoilers [like Nader]'s.
They then are in a position to cash in their favours. Surely nobody is naive enough to think that a million dollar contributer is giving money out of the goodness of their heart? They expect a return on their investment.

That's why I find the news of the thousands of small contributers to Obama's campaign a welcome change.
