We All Love Ella

There has been a whole lot of activity revolving around my girl Ella Fitzgerald, it prolly has something to do with the fact thats it would have been her 90'th birthday this year. Like this newly released Ella record called "Love Letters From Ella" which has some unheard of tracks featuring collaboratins with jazz legend Count Basie and the London Symphony Orchestra. IT SOUNDS GREAT, look it up here: http://www.concordmusicgroup.com/albums/CCD-30213/

ROLF

You know how interns turn around. Yes Jen turned into John unless it was more than an intern switch... oops that goes in the alley. I wonder if John knows "his girl Ella" is not celebrating her birthday on this planet. Is that too crude?

Are Concord and UMG connected, or do they just share shills?

Concord is distributed by Universal.... I think that's why Jen, er John is so down wid it on the jazz tip.

Don't these phony interns know proper English?

"my girl Ella Fitzgerald, it prolly has something to do with the fact thats it would have been her 90'th birthday"

I hope their press releases are better than that.

As do I, Scott.

Ella just plain rocked the house when she was alive.

Two different things. The style of these posts is intentional. They're supposed to give the impression of an enthusiastic youngster with the kind of semi-literacy that rules on the web.

Of course, the quality of press releases is pretty bad these days too.

The phrase "the fact thats it would have been" makes me wonder if Darryl isn't earning a little extra cash shilling for Concord/UMG.

And I had the honor of seeing Miss Ella in the early 90's with my mom. She put on a great show even at her age. I also remember hearing the songbooks that she put out in the 50s when I was a kid. These records were my mom's.

Ella was the best. But this intern isn't capable of writing press releases.

Different job. The intern's job is to be a jerk.

I got to see her at the Playboy Jazz Festival once...it was a true privilege, in every sense of the word.
