Gemini Soul will be performing material from their third cyber jazz CD titled,
“Live : The Liquid Soul Tour;” which features the music from their early 2007 release
“Liquid Soul” and Ajamu Akinyele's critically acclaimed double jazz/fusion CD
"Black Magic The Cyber Jazz Experience."
This isn’t your typical jazz, this is Cyber Jazz!
“Live : The Liquid Soul Tour” captures Gemini Soul over several shows doing what they do best; performing live. Ajamu Akinyele’s bass playing is in the style of
Stanley Clarke,
Marcus Miller and
Me’Shell Ndegeocello - a sight to be seen. Jon O’Bergh’s keyboard stylings capture the elements of 70’s funk, reminiscent of
Herbie Hancock. Andrew Foster’s percussion adds a satin groove, keeping the music smooth and sexy; while Alex Marks’ drum stylings take you back to the pop/funk/jazz fusion of
Miles Davis.
Gemini Soul's performances are smooth, sexy, energizing, stimulating, and displays musicianship at its best. Their shows have been compared to the smooth sounds of
Sade, the funk fusion of bassists
Marcus Miller and
Me’Shell Ndegeocello, the pop/funk/jazz fusion of
Miles Davis and
Herbie Hancock, and piano wizard
Dave Brubeck.
