About the extensive quotes that are appearing here from other BBS: What's up with that? They are in the alley and in speak out. Do we really need to import arguments from other boards? Have people here run out of original things to say?
I enjoy other boards but I'm just wondering how others feel about these extensive quotes from other sites. It feels like the Clear Channelization of jazz boards.
If this is in response to what I posted Rainy, I thought what was argued about on the other board was especially relevant to the discussion at hand. First time I ever did something like it. I won't do it in the future if the consensus is against it. Or maybe I just won't do it again for your sake.
FWIW I did offer an opinion I am not entirely certain of in a earlier post in the same thread.
In general, I think URLs are much much better - I mean, that's what the Web does best! Most boards have clear URLs you can use to directly access your point. Hell, that goes for media reprinting too. Abstracting quote + URL - legal and functional.
