Queens Conservatory of Music presents drummer Kirk Driscoll

Kirk Driscoll will continue Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music’s “Faculty Showcase” series on Saturday, October 27th at the Queens Conservatory at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students/seniors. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling 718.461.8910. For more information, please visit our website at www.bqcm.org

Like much of the more rhythmically adventurous jazz music of the newer jazz artists today, Kirk Driscoll uses the format of the trio to create a world of rhythms both new and old, re-vamping familiar jazz repertoire and original compositions, thus forging a new direction in jazz. Driscoll has toured and performed throughout the United States and Europe, performing with musicians such as Karl Berger, Holy Cole, Robben Ford, D.D. Jackson, Wayne Krantz, Baba Olatunji, Mike Stern, Leni Stern, Haru Takauchi, and Bobby Womack.

Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music is one of the oldest and largest nonprofit community schools of the arts in the nation. The Conservatory serves more than 10,000 people each year, of all ages and backgrounds, through free and subsidized music instruction, educational programs in nearly 40 schools, and free and inexpensive concerts.

Queens Conservatory of Music is located at 42-47 Main Street, Flushing. Take the 7 train to the Main Street-Roosevelt Avenue station, or the Q20 A or B bus.

Programs at the Conservatory are funded in part by Carnegie Foundation, Independence Foundation, MetLife Foundation, New York State Music Fund, National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts, and New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
