Princeton Univ opens concert season, Oct. 13

Jazz program opens concert season, Oct. 13

The Princeton University Concert Jazz Ensemble, directed by Anthony D.J. Branker, will open the University Jazz Program's 2007-08 concert season by celebrating the sound, sensibility and influence of the blues at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, in Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall.

The program, "Three or Four Shades of the Blues," will feature the blues in a variety of stylistic manifestations with compositions by Thad Jones, Benny Carter, Lyle Mays, Frank Foster, Charles Mingus and others.

Tickets may be purchased online through University Ticketing or through the Richardson Auditorium box office, (609) 258-5000.
