Some kind of heaven
(must be similar previous threads, but couldn't find any, so I thought I'd start a new one. For me, right now, it's basically an attempt to try and readjust to grim reality after a week in the Tuscan countryside. - So please, w/ or w/o photo...)
My selfmade breakfast yesterday morning, view included:

Christ, I had cereal and coffee in my kitchen, I think.
But, you know, with my little gang around, it is kind of heavenly.

Looks pretty damned good to me, esp if that's a mimosa in the glass.

A few years back some friends got married just outside Greve, maybe about a month earlier. A magical experience and, my god, the porcini, the food and the scenery just blew me away. I've been wanting to return around this time of year ever since. Thanks for the madeleine.

Thanks, everybody, for the kind compliments & shout-outs. Tuscany really is photography heaven - or hell: you realize the vanity of trying to capture the beauty, yet you can't stop trying. (Just got my first camera in 15 years - a simple Canon dig compact, perfect for my hit/miss approach - felt like a kid in a candy shop.)
Evening just outside Greve, for Douglas:

Nice pics Jan! I had some problems with the washed out cloudy light of the middle part of the day, pretty much everything after 9am and before 5pm. But like you we had some magical breakfasts in Siena looking out over the countryside that we were not able to capture on film. As it should be I suppose.

I met walto's kids a couple of summer ago. They're every bit as cute as the picture suggests. The younger one is a real happy kid, too. Must be her mother's influence!

Man, I'd like to go there someday, Tuscany. I'll bet it was one fine trip.

Sure was, Gary. I'm still soaring, as you can probably tell... - What makes the countryside really special, though, are the living & loving people. The place is full of life; not some kind of museum, artificially perfectified just to accommodate tourists.

Thanks for posting these, Jan. I would like to see more, actually. Or you can just add them to your photobucket album.
By the way, I would have have guessed - almost known - that that was your breakfast.

This is very frustrating for me. I've traveled through Tuscany and know how beautiful the countryside is there. I'm anxious to see those photographs but my work computer will not display them. I'll have to check 'em out at home.

Thanks, walto & Surfer. - Added another 30+ pictures: some obligatory from Siena, bedroom light, fire ritual, the farm. (Not exactly what I had in mind for this thread, but it certainly was good therapy for my post-Tuscan trauma. So now, encouraged & ego inflated, it's back to the normal grind.)
