You have a point there, Reuben. Matt Jorgensen is the originator of the idea from what I understand. They are working at getting the word out about a variety of music though and hopefully will help keep the scene vital here.

Seriously , as Bill said, Matt and John Bishop do a whole lot to keep the jazz scene happening in Seattle.

Every fall ( now moved to spring ) they organize a weekend Ballard jazz walk ( Ballard being one of the older Scandinavian fishing neighborhoods in near NW Seattle.

Yes, indeed, I heard him play a few times out here before he moved back east. By the way, I've been in the Seattle area only since 2001. Before that I lived in Vermont and upstate (way upstate!) New York.
