My choice: nude ant

simple but not cutesy with an interesting yet non-threatening edge - is ant nude in earnest or humorously nude?

kudos

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking that Nude Ant is a reference to a fine Keith Jarrett ECM recording, the title of which I always enjoyed . . . Nude Ants.

hey that's good to know about Fish, Steve. I remember him being on the depressed side and I wondered whether we depressed the hell out of him or what. Yes retirement from CalTrans is a good thing, lol

Hate to break the news, but I don't say it like that. I say it all together. "Stonemonkts." Like the end of "Certs."

And I'll match my "Unfocused User" and avatar combo against anyone! Bring it on!

Which is a sound-alike for "New Dance", while "nude ant" is just stating the obvious, a virtual tautology.

No, I mean "Loser Name" could be a user name. I wasn't saying your proffered names were awful names.

Hey! Is Monte a loser name? That's why I named my kids Gungadar and Fulgencia Maeve Myfanwy...trying to live my own cognomen down. Cognomen! That'd be a good name for a user or a child.

No, it's not really a loser name, just razzing you, but you were wise to give your kids names with more distinctive character. And I'll admit I didn't put much thought into "groover", just wanted some anonymity. After 4,476+ posts, I guess I'm stuck with it.

Cognomen's an interesting word choice, Monte. I like the second definition.

cog·no·men (kŏg-nō'mən) Pronunciation Key
n. pl. cog·no·mens or cog·nom·i·na (-nŏm'ə-nə)
    1. A family name; a surname.
    2. The third and usually last name of a citizen of ancient Rome, as Caesar in Gaius Julius Caesar.
  1. A name, especially a descriptive nickname or epithet acquired through usage over a period of time.

She's got a pretty face, and the rest of her isn't bad, either.

She's be a neat one to know and hang with. She's a fascinating and pleasant, she makes me wonder how it would be to know her and be her friend. She says she has an evil twin, I think I'd like both of them. I wonder if she's like my own sister?

Distinctive? We'll see. We've already met a couple dozen other Gungadars on the playground.

And I think those of us who use our "real" names should get special props for having the balls to own up to the occasionally stoopid things we "say" that are now forever archived in the annals of webdom.

Pedantic Wretch is one of my faves too.
