Does Anyone Know How to Convert Audio Files into MP3 on iTunes or Garage Band?

Hi all,

I've got to make an audio track, using only my voice. I have figured out how to use Garage Band on my Mac to create an audio file.

But how can I convert it to an MP3 from there?

Thanks for your help!

What format does garage band create? There are plenty of free mp3 converters around if you search.

It converts it into AAC, but I finally figured the thing out...

Thanks for your help. I'll check out the other mp3 converters anyway. Do you recommend one?

if it's AAC, you can covert that to an mp3 in iTunes.

For ripping CDs, CDex is good.

In iTunes, click on the ITunes option top left of the screen by the Apple icon, select prefernces. Then click Advanced, then the Importing option. Change the importing option to Mp3 if it isn't already. Then close the Preferences box.

Then highlight the track you want to convert in the Library and click Advanced from the options across the top of the screen and you should see "Convert to Mp3" as an option.

Edit: Just spotted you figured it out. D'oh
