About the event
Jonathan "Jazz" Russell is a sensational twelve-year- old jazz
violinist from New York City who performs regularly throughout the
metropolitan area.
The New York Times has written "when he solos, he embraces his
instrument and enters a private cocoon, where he conjures
sophisticated improvisations on the melodies of jazz standards".
He will be joined by Benny Goodman alumni Ed Polcer (former co-owner
and band leader from Eddie Condon's) and Mark Shane as well as Vince
Giordano, leader of Vince Giordano's Nighthawks and Kevin Dorn
former Cullum band member and leader of his own band The Traditional
Jazz Collective.
There will be an open jam session immediately following hosted by
the Laguardia Performing Arts Center house band and guests.
