An Astronomy Question [if you please]
Lately, I have been seeing two planets in the Southeastern sky just before dawn.
One is much larger than the other and as the Earth moves on its orbit they have changed positions in the sky. The smaller planet is now "above" the bigger planet.
I'm guessing the bigger one is Saturn and the smaller one may be Venus...even Mars.
Does anyone here know which planets they might be?
Thank you in advance.
Tim

You can always check here:
http://currentsky.com/planetwatch.html
One handy rule of thumb - Venus is almost always the brightest, biggest looking planet in the sky. And if a bright-looking planet is near the sun (dawn or dusk), it is certainly Venus. The next brightest planet, on average, is Jupiter, but you'll see that in the solid night sky, not proximate to the sun.

Couldn't resist
When the moon is in the Seventh House
And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars

Alas....that time in my life is long since passed.
The teaching biz is a jealous mistress when it comes to happy plant: I prefer to remain employed.
